The Crowning Glory

My Dentist told me I needed a crown. I was like, I KNOW. RIGHT?”

I went down hard this past couple of weeks. Chest cold, cough, flu bug, fever…you name it. I had it. And, when you’re in the thick of it, you don’t think you’ll ever see the end in sight. Until you do.

Sometimes you just need to laugh. And, there’s no one better to do that with than people you love to be around. Upbeat, positive people. Friends who make you belly laugh; who gently nudge you back into the land of the living.

Yup. Finding friends with the same mental disorder…priceless.

Thank you for taking the time to view the world from a higher perspective.

What Really Matters

New beginnings are exciting! They’re also a little scary.

While we’ve been busy chasing that elusive thing we call money, our planet has been actively re-balancing herself in order to aid us…the collective humanity, shift into a New World. A better world.

We have been moving into this new awareness as our own bodies have been re-calibrating in order to accommodate this new frequency vibration. Have you noticed low energy, or headaches, or any dizziness recently? These may be signs that your body is re-balancing itself. And the pace is quickening.

I can guarantee that all of us are facing personal challenges at this time. It may be health issues, relationship challenges, or finding a sound spiritual grounding. A lot is going on.

If you are sensing that the world is literally on the edge of huge change, then no wonder you are reading this! You are right on point.

This year your mind will process thousands of emails, Facebook posts, Tweets, Pinterest, Instagram, phone calls, TV shows, personal conversations and more. All this information is like candy for your brain. And, when it needs its fix, this “pain-body” will pester away at you until you feed it.

All this constant “distraction” is the food it needs to replenish itself. It eagerly devours every distracted thought. And, all this does is take your awareness to your outside environment when your journey here in life is to go inside and find Truth.

Hey I get it. My family knows only too well how thin I spread myself sometimes. That’s why I need to block out sections of my day to shut out all that noise and distraction and do my inner work. To get beyond and return to that inner sacred sanctuary where I meet up with blissful silence, peace, and fulfillment.

As our Mother Earth transitions into the new higher frequency, we come to realize that this is our next step in the evolution of humanity. Remember, whether we consciously know this or not, we chose to be here at this most critical juncture in the history of mankind.

Now is the time to find your own Personal Power. Once we see the true bigger picture of who we are and what we’re here for, everything gets reset and we start on a brand new path in life.

How do we put our best foot forward in 2016? What is the most productive and effective course of action in our personal lives?

Abundant Blessings for 2016! And…Keep Shining. This planet needs your warmth.

How To Grand Slam Your Destiny In One Word…And It’s Not What You Think

“It’s impossible,” said Pride…”It’s risky,” said Experience…”It’s pointless,” said Reason…”Give it a try.” whispered the Heart.”

…Unknown

Sometimes life hurls a curve ball at us. Sometimes life lobs us a sucker punch. No one is immune. We all get ’em at some point in our life.

It’s at those moments when we are driven to our knees by an overwhelming conviction that there is no where else to go...well, it’s at those moments when, for some, a light bulb goes off. A decision is made.

Just a single nano moment in time when, for some, they find deep within themselves, something to live for. Some meaning that they put at the centre of their lives where even the worst kind of suffering becomes bearable.

What is it that they discover? What is it that sets off this inner drive that NO ONE can puncture?

Push everything aside for a few moments and check this one out…

You won’t find the depth of this process at the beginning of your journey. It seldom happens. For, when we set out on this quest no matter how challenging or unnerving it may seem, is there anything easier than the beginning?

No, it’s when you feel like you’ve “struck out,” when you’re not sure you can continue…when it seems like it’s time to leave this madness behind…It’s then that someone comes along, or, something happens…it’s usually something that appears very strange…a coincident, a dream, your imagination…and you just have a knowing that you should continue.

This process can be summed up in one word:  PASSION.

As pursued by a wordsmith who spent his life studying where words came from and their true meaning, this word “passion” first surfaced in the twelfth century and, coined by Christian scholars, it means to suffer. In the purest sense, it describes the willing suffering of Christ.

Passion doesn’t mean suffering for suffering’s sake though. It must be pure and willing suffering. And, there is a link between suffering, or passion, and sacrifice. The word “sacrifice” comes from the Latin word ‘sacra’ which means sacred , and  ‘fice,’ which means to perform. To sacrifice is to perform the sacred.

So, at its very core, “passion” is sacred suffering. The good news is that suffering is not necessarily a bad thing. It’s life defining. It’s noble.

And, the real meaning of the word “passion” is being willing to suffer for what you love. For, when we discover what we are willing to pay a price for…it is then that we discover our life’s mission and true purpose here in this world we live in.

Instead of letting outside influences determine the direction of your life….why not “grand slam” your own destiny?

“Give it a try.” whispers your Heart…

And to give you a bit of inspiration…worthwhile watching…

How Million Dollar Moments Work

“Sometimes crying or laughing are the only options left, and laughing feels better right now.”
…Veronica Roth,
Author of Divergent

Today I want to laugh. It’s good medicine. It ignites serotonin in your brain…you know, that stuff…those neurotransmitters that nourish us with feelings of bliss.

So, today I started a project. It’s called “The Million Dollar Moments Project” and here’s how it works:

When you experience a moment in your day that makes you stop. A moment when you smile and think to yourself  “This is why the sun is shining today.” Or, a moment when you’re overcome because of some random act of kindness that you witnessed. Or, a moment  bringing to your awareness that this really is “A Wonderful World,”  I want you to do something.

It could be a large momentous moment. It could be a simple quiet moment. But, it is a moment in your day that makes you pause. A moment that takes your breath away. A Million Dollar Moment.

And, then here’s what I want you to do: Write me and share with me your amazing “Million Dollar Moment” story. Courageous moments, kind moments, optimistic moments, proud moments,  bittersweet moments, loving moments. We all have transformational moments in our life that changed the path we were on. They all count.

That’s it. And, for every “Million Dollar Moment” story you share with me, I will ship to you a copy of my own “Million Dollar Moments” book for F.REE!  No strings attached. No shipping charges. Nothing. Just a gift from my heart to yours.

So, let’s start a snowball. (Hey, it’s winter here in Canada eh. And, we all live in Igloos!) That snowball is at the top of the mountain now. Let’s watch how big it gets by rolling down the hill. One Million Dollar Moment at a time.

How To Find Happiness When It Seems Like Your World Is Falling Apart

“There’s no life without humour. It can make the wonderful moments in life truly glorious, and it can make tragic moments bearable.”
…Rufus Wainwright

I’ve just received some tragic news this past week. My most favourite Aunt in the world has just been diagnosed with cancer. This has happened quite quickly and already she is in Palliative Care so it really is just a matter of time before she leaves this world.

So, in I go to visit her. A huge sadness enveloping me like a dark cloud. And, I trudge down the hallway psyching myself to put on a brave face when I see her…feeling, with every step I take, that sad, empty energy of those morbid hospital halls start to close in around me. Consume me.

But, then something magical happened…

As I approached her room, I saw this person that I thought I recognized but was not quite sure. She was doing the same thing. And, then we locked eyes and both my aunt and I broke into enormous smiles.

I was so happy to see her…that beautiful aunt of mine who commanded attention whenever she walked into a room. She was not only beautiful to look at, and she was definitely that…she had this charisma, this twinkle in her eye, this joy of life that emanated from her and made you just want to rub up against her so that maybe some of that pure joy might rub off onto you.

It was a bittersweet reunion. But, for some reason these words seemed to tumble out of my mouth before I could stop them.

“You’ll be seeing my sister soon.” I told her.

“Yes. I will.” She replied. “I will say hi to her for you.”

Then I looked at her and said “I want You to send me a message too.” Her heartfelt response was “I will do that. If I can.”

And, with that the conversation was over. I felt a profound sense of calm wash over me because I knew then that she was ready for the next part of her journey.

Her sons, my cousins came back into the room. We chatted of family things and it felt important to me to see her laugh once again. So I used my own children’s escapades as a leverage to do that. It worked. Both my cousin’s and my banter back and forth created this wonderful glee inside that gloomy hospital atmosphere. It felt like sunshine after a summer’s rain shower. And we laughed.

A while later, when I reached work and walked back into this tiny cubicle of an office I sit in every day…four walls, no windows, something caught my attention out of the corner of my eye. I looked up. I saw a butterfly fluttering from a bookshelf and landing on a basket in the room. I smiled.  “Hi Pam” I whispered.

My sister, you see had been with us all the while.

I also received this video about “Aunt Chippy” when I reached my office that day and because it made me laugh out loud, I thought I would share it with you too. This reminds me of my aunt only in that she loved to laugh. I hope you do too.

Have a lighthearted, hilarious, side-splitting, gut-busting, rib-tickling week.

Find Your “G” Spot – Tip #22

Gratitude is absolutely the way to bring more into your life. Practice being thankful every day.  Small things matter.

What Meditation Does For You – Tip #3

There are so many benefits to meditation.  It helps you to clear the mind and lets you sleep better at night.  It helps you to become aware of the continuous stream of thoughts occupying your mind for the better part of the day.  It helps with menopause.  It boosts your sex drive. It creates confidence. It burns karma.  It is a stress-buster. It is good for business.  It makes you happy!

3 Costly Mistakes Preventing Your Peace of Mind

Mistake #1 – Your body and mind are separate. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.

It’s been said that “You may fool yourself some of the time. You may fool others some of the time. But, you can never fool your body. It is the most sensitive barometer of your inner world.” And, both are inter-connected. “What tones and calms one, soothes and improves the other.”

Your behaviour is actually creating worldly and psychic frameworks that future humanity and your descendants will inhabit.

Solution – Choose your acts and thoughts very wisely. Life responds to wise attention in remarkable ways! A body scan is a good way to begin to live mindfully. Your mind has a direct impact on your body. What inhabits your body? Your mind. If the mind is tense, and disconnected, the body will match. Doing a body scan is a simple technique that helps you to energetically wake up your body-mind connection.

Mistake #2– Your Thinking Mind. I know it sounds silly but most people’s thinking is automatic, repetitive and involuntary. You don’t think. Thinking happens to you. The voice in the head has a mind of its own, and unfortunately most people are at the mercy of that voice. Your mind picks up all kinds of things from earlier in the day and “replays” it endlessly, or it’s restless and can’t stop running around. These are all very powerful internal states and your mind gets attached to this conditioned way of thinking. Your mind wants attention right now!

Solution: Get out of your head! Let go of the stories. Free your mind by sitting quietly. Try paying attention to your breathing. This not only changes the direction of your focus, but it also helps in not strengthening your wayward thoughts.

Mistake #3 – Your Ego. Yikes! This is a big one. For thousands of years humanity has become mind-possessed. Because we have become so identified through our mind, a false sense of ourself came into being – the ego. And there’s even more to this.

Another dimension of the ego is emotion. Emotion turns into ego when you identify with them; that is to say when they become “I” takes over.

Explained a different way, let’s say that you see two of your friends over in the corner having a quiet conversation. Your mind observes this and then begins to chatter away. Saying things like “I bet they’re over there talking about me.” Or, “I just know that they’re talking about what happened today at the gym.” You have not only become emotional, but the situation becomes about you.

Solution – How do you get a handle on this? You need to let go of the story and return to the only place of power. The Present Moment. You hang onto your stories because it strengthens your identity. But, nothing ever happened in the past that can prevent you from being Present Now. And, if the past can’t prevent you from being Present Now, what power does it have? Again, become quiet in your body and allow your mind to become still so it can see what is really there. This is called having a mindful experience.
