Just A Butterfly On My Hand

If you advance confidently in the direction of your own dreams and endeavor to live the life which you have imagined, you will meet with a success unexpected in common hours. It will chase you.”

…Henry David Thoreau

Yesterday was a world-class day.

Have you ever witnessed or experienced something that was so profoundly beautiful that it brought tears to your eyes?

This is the highest octave of any day’s energetics.

Beauty has many forms and definitions.  It applies to anything and everything.

I write almost every day and I do not have words to describe what happened to me yesterday.  It is one of those days when I wish I was an artist of some kind because words fail me when attempting to describe what happened.  Playing an instrument, dancing, or using the voice for singing would be the only way to fully engender the meaning.

Thus, I will honor the beauty of the heart of it as purely and as simply as I can: We are greatly loved, and the enormity of it is realized by us only in flickers.

The stars flickered for us yesterday.  And, strangely here is what happened…

As most of you know, I lost one of my sisters to breast cancer and the void she left can be all-consuming some days. But, on other days, well, things magical happen. “As above, so below” is an ancient adage that declares a belief in the physical connection between heaven and earth. And, yesterday I experienced a mystical moment.

But, first I must tell you that, for our family, butterflies are very significant. Whenever we see a butterfly we know that my sister is close by. This is because, shortly after her death, her daughter who was seeing a grief counselor, was asked: “If your mommy could come back, what would she come back as?” She responded almost immediately and with great conviction: “Oh, my mommy would be a butterfly.”

And, when at Christmas of the same year, she yanked on her clacker, (that yearly tradition in some Christian households) to get her gift that was inside…and a butterfly popped out, we knew without a doubt that my sister, who had a great sense of humor, was making a visit. So…ever since then….butterflies are significant.

Well, as it happened, yesterday a man came up to me with his hands cupped. He opened them and then gently placed on my finger, the coolest, most beautiful butterfly. A Swallowtail Butterfly to be exact. You rarely see any of them, though, as they spend much of their lives feeding high up in trees, and do so mostly at night.

Not yesterday. Yesterday, this stunning, graceful, elegant, exquisite living being, visited me and stayed on my hand for at least 15 minutes! In the midst of all the craziness and insanity that this world is doling out right now; in the middle of this huge transition that humanity is going through, I actually drew a crowd as people wanted to see up close the beauty of this spectacular butterfly.

And, I got quite emotional as I stood there. For, you see, I knew without a doubt that this was my sister paying us a visit. And, she had the ability to make people pause for a second, from their busy lives, to admire the beauty this world has to offer.

I realized something else too. In the parallel of the cycle of growth of a butterfly, we are in the time of the “growing season” when the caterpillar cocoons and makes its way through the darkness of the chrysalis to come out into the light of day.  In the natural cycle, this is the time of persevering through challenges to our hopes, wishes and dreams.

My sister showed me in her quiet, ethereal, unearthly, kind of way that just as she made the transformation from caterpillar to butterfly, we too, are being lifted above and beyond.  Out of harm’s way.

So, advance confidently in the direction of your dreams. If you do, you’ll meet with a success that can only be imagined! It will chase you. My sister chased us yesterday. It was a beautiful act of love.

The Crowning Glory

My Dentist told me I needed a crown. I was like, I KNOW. RIGHT?”

I went down hard this past couple of weeks. Chest cold, cough, flu bug, fever…you name it. I had it. And, when you’re in the thick of it, you don’t think you’ll ever see the end in sight. Until you do.

Sometimes you just need to laugh. And, there’s no one better to do that with than people you love to be around. Upbeat, positive people. Friends who make you belly laugh; who gently nudge you back into the land of the living.

Yup. Finding friends with the same mental disorder…priceless.

Thank you for taking the time to view the world from a higher perspective.

How Million Dollar Moments Work

Snow ball

“Sometimes crying or laughing are the only options left, and laughing feels better right now.”
…Veronica Roth,
Author of Divergent

Today I want to laugh. It’s good medicine. It ignites serotonin in your brain…you know, that stuff…those neurotransmitters that nourish us with feelings of bliss.

So, today I started a project. It’s called “The Million Dollar Moments Project” and here’s how it works:

When you experience a moment in your day that makes you stop. A moment when you smile and think to yourself  “This is why the sun is shining today.” Or, a moment when you’re overcome because of some random act of kindness that you witnessed. Or, a moment  bringing to your awareness that this really is “A Wonderful World,”  I want you to do something.

It could be a large momentous moment. It could be a simple quiet moment. But, it is a moment in your day that makes you pause. A moment that takes your breath away. A Million Dollar Moment.

And, then here’s what I want you to do: Write me and share with me your amazing “Million Dollar Moment” story. Courageous moments, kind moments, optimistic moments, proud moments,  bittersweet moments, loving moments. We all have transformational moments in our life that changed the path we were on. They all count.

That’s it. And, for every “Million Dollar Moment” story you share with me, I will ship to you a copy of my own “Million Dollar Moments” book for F.REE!  No strings attached. No shipping charges. Nothing. Just a gift from my heart to yours.

So, let’s start a snowball. (Hey, it’s winter here in Canada eh. And, we all live in Igloos!) That snowball is at the top of the mountain now. Let’s watch how big it gets by rolling down the hill. One Million Dollar Moment at a time.

Million Dollar Moments of old…

The One Thing That Got Me Through a Very Tough Year

“Let us be grateful to the people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.”
…Marcel Proust

As we celebrate the joy of this season, take a moment for yourself in all the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Go outside. Stand there in silence. Look up into the sky and reflect on how amazing life is. Ponder for a moment, if you will, how magnificent this planet which houses us truly is.

Is the sun shining? Can you feel that crisp winter air on your face? Is there snow on the ground? A fire burning in your home? Do you have a warm bed to sleep in? Go on, take it all in as you stand there…these are blessings. Simple things. Beautiful things.

You have been the gardener of my soul this year and for that I am very thankful. Have a charming, enchanting Holiday season filled with people you love and the gifts of magical moments.

Here’s a delightfully magical moment that was gifted to people in Germany in December of this year…

The Zen of Autumn

red-oak-61975_1280

“Autumn is a second Spring when every leaf is a flower.”
…Albert Camus

Autumn is my favourite time of the year. A time when the air is crisp and fresh…when you take a deep breath and inhale that wood burning fire. Or, when you step out in nature only to hear the crackling of discarded leaves and branches beneath your feet. It’s funny but even as the sun shines her beauty down on us, the world feels like it actually starts to slow down a beat.

Sadly, many of us have made our world so familiar that we don’t see it anymore. We don’t notice the squirrels scurrying about to collect food for the winter. We are so busy rushing from here to there that we don’t take the time to stop. And look. And listen.

Let’s all be thankful because we live on the most spectacular planet in the galaxy! Lush beauty is everywhere if you give that gift to yourself. Perhaps ask yourself as you get ready for bed at night “What did I REALLY see today?”

As change rapidly unfolds in our world, reinforce your grounded connection to Mother Earth, Gaia Sophia. It is with her that we maintain our sanity. Turn to nature often for reinforcement and the reminder of all things good and wonderful and true.

A very blessed and Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends.

What Exactly Are The Third and Fourth Dimensions?

We are beginning to hear these expressions all the time. “We’ve moved out of third dimension.” “There will never be another baby born in the third dimension.”

So, what exactly does third dimension and fourth dimension mean?

Many of us feel, or intuitively know that we are moving out of an existence we’ve been used to living (third dimension) and passing through (fourth dimension) to enter into another (fifth dimension) we know nothing about.

The first thing we should all know is that dimensions are not places but instead, different levels of consciousness each with its own traits and ways of thinking and feeling.

Third Dimension

At this level of consciousness we have been living under very rigid boundaries and we have been operating within certain structures and certain vibrations. One of those vibrations is FEAR. In our efforts to get to know ourselves better we have incarnated many times upon the Earth. We left behind our Higher Selves and therefore lost our connection to the Creator.

So, in this perception of separation we have been behaving like deserted children and have been experiencing the energy we call fear. Fear made it more difficult to move freely because it created this rigid boundary. The result has been that we’ve taken on very uncomfortable characteristics such as being the victim, feeling guilty, having resistance to new ideas, and dis-ease.

We have been very successful at this third-dimensional game. Our struggle against violence and cruelty is only treating the symptoms of the third-dimensional dis-ease, not curing it. And, because of this reaction, it has closed down our ability to learn and grow and to re-member our Higher Selves, to re-merge with our Soul. Many of us have stopped living our passion and are living trapped in a web of fear. Now is the time to realize…YOU are the cure.

Fourth Dimension

I’m sure you’ve heard the expressions “Be Present” or “Live in the Now.” That is fourth dimension.

In fourth dimension the past is simply observing our history without the emotional charge. The future is an opportunity waiting to present itself in the NOW moment through choice. In other words, yesterday has no relevance on tomorrow. The eternal present is all there is.

To take this one step further, our decisions are conscious choices made in the present moment. In other words, what we think is what we will experience in the moment. There is no lag-time. So, be careful what you think…as what you think about will manifest.

In fourth dimension we have “choice.” It replaces the third dimension emotional response of “reaction.” Choice allows us to have flexibility. This creates a greater ability to look at different possibilities to produce a whole lot of different outcomes. Fourth dimension allows you to take back your power. Why? Because its expansiveness (not rigidity) gives you the ability to choose.

This opens up our possibilities of what to experience, to release judgements, and to increase our ability to allow. In fourth dimension, we are constantly moving toward balance and re-alignment. Toward re-membering.

This structure is very open and fascinating because it allows for all possibilities. Well-being, Gratitude, the Inner Smile, Love are all options in the fourth dimension. As soon as we become fearful, it places us back in the third dimension of reaction and limitation.

It is time for us to come into our power. There is no reason for us to feel unworthy, unwanted, or unloved anymore. It is time to let go of those old thoughts and patterns. You see, the battle we are fighting is not against a particular race, or nation. It is against human nature itself…or at least what it has become.

It is time to re-member we are great beings of love and light. You will know when it’s time to help. You will know when it’s time to awaken. You will know when it’s time to re-member WHO YOU ARE.

Once we stand up for ourselves in love, we will start to shine like the sun!

A Heartwarming Tale Of Good Business: How 5 Minutes Grew My Heart Three Sizes That Day

Ugh. Tires. I had to get ’em. From my point of view, there is nothing sexy about tires! But, I needed them. Desperately. Steel was beginning to show through my radials. A number of people were telling me this.

And, so it was with tires in mind, on that bleak, blustery, dreary day at the end of November that I walked into a Tire Centre only to have my life forever changed by the experience!

I haggled with the owner about what kind of tires I needed. I was adamant that I wanted this certain kind of tire. He was recommending another. I listened to his suggestions and we struck a deal. After all, he was the expert on tires. And, then I sat down to wait… and wait… and wait.

After an indeterminable length of time (it seemed like hours), I was told that my car was ready. It was at that point where the story got really interesting…

I went over to the counter to get the “damage statement”. It was then that I was told, by the owner, that there would be no charge. What??!! NO CHARGE! Were my ears deceiving me?!!

I asked, “Pardon?” somewhat incredulously. My guess was he was trying to keep it on the low. The place was crawling with people waiting for their cars to be finished. Frustrated that I needed to be told again, he stated impatiently “Will this help you?” I emphatically replied “Why, yes!”

It was then he said these words: “Well, then. Merry Christmas.”

He sent me on my way. Stunned, I turned and very cautiously walked out the door. I could have heard a pin drop. It was as if everything in my world had become suddenly hushed and reduced to slow motion. It was a very surreal experience for me. I can still remember it as if it happened yesterday.

I crept back to my car, scared witless that my bubble would burst and I would awaken to this being an insane dream. I put the keys in the ignition, backed the car out of that Tire Centre afraid to disturb or interrupt this beautiful moment, and I began to drive down the street. It was only when I had gone 200 yards, that my senses began to return, a rush of blood flooded into my head, and I started adding up what just happened. I mean, literally added everything up!

Something that I should have been charged over $1,200.00, cost me nothing! I burst into tears.

Who, in this day and age would do something as astounding as that??!!! Who was this guy? Some kind of Earth Angel?

My life had already become topsy-turvy. This random act of kindness just spun it out of control.

And then it dawned on me. The path I had recently chosen to take, the journey that I was now embarking on… that of inspiring others to do the things that inspire them, well, this was a very obvious affirmation to me that I was on the right path. I got it! I really, really got it! Those tires I received actually eased the bumpy road I was travelling on.

When you change the focus from getting to giving… putting other peoples’ interests first and truly adding value to their lives, well that leads to unexpected returns.

That kind man received more business through his generosity to me than thousands of marketing dollars could ever have hoped to achieve. It brings new meaning to the old proverb “Give and you shall receive.”

5 Secrets That Successful People Do Every Day

At this juncture in history, it is getting harder and harder to find people in positions of authority who inspire us. With so much bad news everywhere… politics, global economy, and health scares, people are drowning in a quicksand of stress. Why not start and point yourself in the right direction to climb out of the mire.

Wanna know how? Here are 5 Simple Steps that successful people do everyday that will help you to get going.

1. Start by changing the way you see the world.

Believe you live in a friendly Universe. And, then start by working harder on yourself than you do on your job. Yes, that’s right. Make yourself more valuable to the marketplace by learning and growing every day… and your life will grow in leaps and bounds.

2. Gratitude

When you are thankful for what you have, well, those things appreciate in value. When you start off each day being grateful for the blessings in your life, your life will bring you a greater sense of happiness. For it is not happiness that makes us grateful, but rather, gratefulness that makes us happy. Be grateful. Small things matter.

3. Practice Random Acts of Kindness

Kind people rock! Performing an act of kindness actually releases serotonin in your brain. Serotonin has massive health benefits, including making you feel more blissful. It’s a quietly powerful way to feel good inside. What’s even cooler? Not only does it make you feel great, but, any bystander who happens to see that act of kindness, gets a kick of serotonin released in their brain as well just by watching what’s going on. Kindness is contagious so… Pass It On.

4. Give.

Yup. That’s right. Give a smile to a stranger you meet on the street, or, give your child the attention they deserve and they crave. Give in to being right, and give to be happy. You see, most people are nowhere nearly as successful as they wish they were. The fourth secret to success is… giving.

5. Do No Be Afraid to Show Your Vulnerability

Move over greed! Get outta here domination and discrimination! Your power is all dried up. The new power, the one that has the potential to steer the world in the right direction, is vulnerability. There is nothing more powerful than demonstrating to people you are susceptible to a physical or emotional attack or harm. It’s actually what draws people to you. Why? Because you are exposing your truest self to the world. You are showing people your so-called imperfections are not a source of shame but, rather are what connects all of humanity.

Find Your “G” Spot – Tip #22

Gratitude is absolutely the way to bring more into your life. Practice being thankful every day.  Small things matter.
