Just A Butterfly On My Hand

If you advance confidently in the direction of your own dreams and endeavor to live the life which you have imagined, you will meet with a success unexpected in common hours. It will chase you.”

…Henry David Thoreau

Yesterday was a world-class day.

Have you ever witnessed or experienced something that was so profoundly beautiful that it brought tears to your eyes?

This is the highest octave of any day’s energetics.

Beauty has many forms and definitions.  It applies to anything and everything.

I write almost every day and I do not have words to describe what happened to me yesterday.  It is one of those days when I wish I was an artist of some kind because words fail me when attempting to describe what happened.  Playing an instrument, dancing, or using the voice for singing would be the only way to fully engender the meaning.

Thus, I will honor the beauty of the heart of it as purely and as simply as I can: We are greatly loved, and the enormity of it is realized by us only in flickers.

The stars flickered for us yesterday.  And, strangely here is what happened…

As most of you know, I lost one of my sisters to breast cancer and the void she left can be all-consuming some days. But, on other days, well, things magical happen. “As above, so below” is an ancient adage that declares a belief in the physical connection between heaven and earth. And, yesterday I experienced a mystical moment.

But, first I must tell you that, for our family, butterflies are very significant. Whenever we see a butterfly we know that my sister is close by. This is because, shortly after her death, her daughter who was seeing a grief counselor, was asked: “If your mommy could come back, what would she come back as?” She responded almost immediately and with great conviction: “Oh, my mommy would be a butterfly.”

And, when at Christmas of the same year, she yanked on her clacker, (that yearly tradition in some Christian households) to get her gift that was inside…and a butterfly popped out, we knew without a doubt that my sister, who had a great sense of humor, was making a visit. So…ever since then….butterflies are significant.

Well, as it happened, yesterday a man came up to me with his hands cupped. He opened them and then gently placed on my finger, the coolest, most beautiful butterfly. A Swallowtail Butterfly to be exact. You rarely see any of them, though, as they spend much of their lives feeding high up in trees, and do so mostly at night.

Not yesterday. Yesterday, this stunning, graceful, elegant, exquisite living being, visited me and stayed on my hand for at least 15 minutes! In the midst of all the craziness and insanity that this world is doling out right now; in the middle of this huge transition that humanity is going through, I actually drew a crowd as people wanted to see up close the beauty of this spectacular butterfly.

And, I got quite emotional as I stood there. For, you see, I knew without a doubt that this was my sister paying us a visit. And, she had the ability to make people pause for a second, from their busy lives, to admire the beauty this world has to offer.

I realized something else too. In the parallel of the cycle of growth of a butterfly, we are in the time of the “growing season” when the caterpillar cocoons and makes its way through the darkness of the chrysalis to come out into the light of day.  In the natural cycle, this is the time of persevering through challenges to our hopes, wishes and dreams.

My sister showed me in her quiet, ethereal, unearthly, kind of way that just as she made the transformation from caterpillar to butterfly, we too, are being lifted above and beyond.  Out of harm’s way.

So, advance confidently in the direction of your dreams. If you do, you’ll meet with a success that can only be imagined! It will chase you. My sister chased us yesterday. It was a beautiful act of love.

Exit Wounds

The wound is the place where the light hits you.”
…Rumi

We have all been betrayed. We have all been the betrayer. And, we often look to someone who we can trust more than ourselves. Perhaps this is because we know deep down how often we betray ourselves.

I have learned over the years that the people in my life who are most trustworthy are those people who tell me the truth even when the truth is hard. They are not always the people who keep their agreements with me. How does this make them trustworthy you ask?

Those who can be disloyal and can bear the responsibility of breaking an agreement with someone when the other option is to betray themselves…are trustworthy.

Yes, we have all had wounds. We have all been the betrayed and the betrayer. If we cannot acknowledge this, we will find ourselves harsh and unforgiving. And, especially unable to grieve for the times we have betrayed ourselves.

Now, refusing to betray ourselves does not give us a license to break agreements on a whim, or to disregard the aftermath of our actions on others.

Sometimes, it seems like we must be cruel…we must wound others, in order to be kind in the long run. And that’s the hardest part. The hard part too, the place where we hope that wisdom will find us, is in deciding where and when we must break a promise to be true to ourselves. We must weigh the cost to our soul…if we keep our agreement…the cost of that which is the essence of who we are…against the cost to others if the agreement is broken.

A wound, whether the betrayer or the betrayed…is that place where the choices we make are. But, if we can be still enough with what is…we can find that place deep in our soul where it is clear which choice is a choice for life, and we can make no other. And, that is where the light begins to seep in.

I ask you this. Can you do this? Can you make the choice that’s for life even when that choice is hard? When doing so makes you appear disloyal to others? Can you make the choice without putting yourself or the other out of your heart? This is what I want to know. For I believe, that if we are strong enough to be weak enough, we are given a wound that never heals. It is that wound…that gift that shines the light in and keeps the heart open.

The Extrovert – Diary of A World That Can’t Stop Talking

Our culture made a virtue of living only as extroverts. We discouraged the inner journey, the quest for a center. So we lost our center and have to find it again.”

…Anais Nin

We’ve all grown up in this western cultural mindset that told us it’s great to be bold, to be sociable (think about Social Media). Extroverts love to get out there and meet new people, crank up the stereo, race to the finish line, tackle assignments quickly. Which means we’ve lost sight of who we really are.

But, did you know that one third to one half of our population are introverts?…in other words, one out of every two or three people you know.

That was astonishing to me! Could I actually be an introvert?!! So I did some research. And here’s a very interesting story that exemplifies how our North American culture evolved into the rise of the Extrovert Ideal…

The date: 1902. The place: Harmony Church, Missouri, a tiny dot-on-the-map, village in small-town U.S.A. Our leading character: a good-natured but insecure teenage boy named Dale.

Skinny, fretful, unathletic, Dale was the son of a morally upright but constantly bankrupt pig farmer. He loves and respects his parents but is horrified that he might end up like them. Dale worries about other things too. Thunder and lightening, having a date for his high school prom, and being tongue-tied at crucial moments.

Well, one day a very captivating speaker comes to town. You know the kind…with the ability to mesmerize an audience. And, he fascinates young Dale with his rag-to-riches story. How he went from a lowly farm boy with a bleak future, to how he developed a charismatic speaking style and took to the stage. Dale hangs on every word he says.

A few years go by and Dale is again impressed by the value of public speaking. He is now in college and he observes that the students who win the campus speaking contests are viewed as leaders, and he is determined to be one of them. He signs up for every contest. He practices every night at home. Again and again he loses.

Eventually though his efforts begin to pay off. He transforms himself into a speaking champion and campus hero. By the time he leaves college, students are seeking him out for help in speaking, and corporate America is booming. J.C. Penney, Sears Roebuck, Woolworth are all household names.

Well, this new economy called for a new kind of man…a salesman, a social operator who had a ready smile, a great handshake. You know the kind. So, Dale joins the ranks of those salesmen, heading out on the road.

Dale’s last name as you may have guessed by now is Carnegie. The rest is history. His book “How To Win Friends and Influence People” was one of the first best-selling, self-help books ever published. His story is also the rise of our cultural evolution that reached a tipping point around the turn of the twentieth century.

So, here’s what happened. We shifted our focus from inner goodness and integrity to outer seductiveness, magnetism, and charm. We went from a Culture of Character, to a Culture of Personality. And, we opened up a Pandora’s box of personal stress and anxiety from which we have not yet recovered.

And, it’s bizarre given the fact that most of us are actually introverts, who have learned how to adopt extroverted behaviors in order to succeed. But, at what a cost!! We have now reached epidemic levels in depression, and mental health issues.

The solution is simple. But, most people have dismissed it with a wave of their hand and then carried on with their very busy lives.

What we ALL really need to do is to learn how to get still once again. We need to embrace the silence that is within us.  For it is there that we will receive great wisdom. Look at it as a sanctuary for our busy selves…a time when we can just “be” without having to impress anyone else. And, it’s very, very important that we discover this sacredness again.

It truly is an inside job. A training of sorts where the payoff won’t be in lining the pockets of those who are already “fat” from profits, but rather, a return to the riches of our own soul.

That, my friends, is priceless.

What’s Being Concealed From Us? And What Is The Right Thing To Do?

elephant-84186_640

Cowardice asks the question – Is it safe?
Expediency asks the question – Is it politic?
Vanity asks the question – Is is popular?
But Conscience asks the question – Is it Right?
And, there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular; but one must take it BECAUSE it is right.”

…Martin Luther King

There is a story about an elephant who, at 6,000 lbs. just stood there with a small chain wrapped around his ankle. What was so strange about this spectacle was that this creature made no attempt to break free from the small stake he was tied to. Something he could have easily done. This was a very puzzling thing indeed.

As it turns out, when this beautiful, magnificent elephant was a mere 200 lbs. he was chained to that very same stake. Every day. You see, he was conditioned to believe day after day, in his young years that he could not break free from his bonds and so, as an adult he never tried.

How many of us have avoided trying something new because of a conditioned thought? Worse still, how many of us have not taken a stand because of someone’s else’s limited beliefs?

How hard is it to become free and healed when there is a chance that it might not be safe, nor politic, nor popular?

This is where we are today. We have felt powerless for so long that we are at the risk of not realizing that we are the powerful now. We are at the risk of staying enslaved forever. Is this what we truly want for ourselves and humanity?

Well, here’s something we can do now. A baby step if you will…but an intensely powerful and potent elephant baby step…So simple, yet important and influential enough to change the direction of our future.

I came across a person by the name of Ty Bollinger some time ago. He is on a mission to eradicate cancer by teaching the world all the best methods to prevent, treat, heal from, and beat the disease…

…And to expose Big Pharma who profits BIG TIME by concealing the truth and feeding the public lies that cause millions unnecessary suffering (and their very lives).

Well, a short while ago, Ty released an uplifting and mesmerizing 9-part documentary series on “The Truth About Cancer: A Global Quest.” I was both captivated and held spellbound by the amount of unbelievably credible information that was delivered in this documentary.  I couldn’t wait each day for the next part in the series. It was THAT good!

I am happy to share with you today an incredible opportunity!

Beginning April 12, they are going to re-release “The Truth About Cancer: A Global Quest” 9-part documentary series for a limited time (for free).

Do yourself a favor and click on the link or copy and paste the link to watch for free “The Truth About Cancer: A Global Quest” video series that starts April 12th.

I have nothing to gain by doing this. I just feel very strongly about the truth of this film series as I lost a sister to breast cancer.

You see, I am beginning to listen to my inner voice, to heed my intuition in matters of the heart. My conscience tells me that this is the right thing to do.

The “New Normal” We are Now Living In And How To Make It Work For You

It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”

Antoine de Saint-Exupery

It is a fact that we are living in a time of extremes. That doesn’t mean that only bad things are happening, or even good things for that matter. But, that we are living in a time when really BIG things are happening. We can no longer separate the big things that are happening in our world from ourselves and our everyday lives and our families.

Yes, our world is changing in ways we have never seen and in ways we are not used to. I mean, we don’t have a good guide, or a good blueprint, or a good textbook. And, the significance of this is that we need to think and act differently. More so now than at any time in the past.

There is a trigger for this change that we are seeing now that makes this so unlike the times of our parents or our grandparents.

There is a convergence of three powerful cycles of change that we were not taught about in school.

These three cycles of change that are staring us in the face right now…this window of time where a cycle of conflict is converging with the climate cycle and the economic cycle…well, that is a recipe for tremendous change.

For us it means that we are not going to stop that cycle…our worlds and our lives are changing.

This is the new normal we are living in. And, because we’ve been so conditioned in the past to look at the world we’ve known and say “This is not the ways things should be,” it makes it hard for us to embrace something that is new.

But, now is the time to get honest with ourselves. We’re going to see a shift in our weather, we’re going to see volatile economies. And through that volatility in the way people work together and embrace that, is how we will move forward and begin to solve our problems…rather than trying to do everything we’ve done in the past that led to our problems to begin with.

And, a very new discovery that has caught the medical profession off guard is the fact that our ability to embrace change is directly linked to our heart and our brain and the connection that the two of them make together.

The quality of that communication determines the chemistry that’s released into our bodies, our anti-age hormones, our immune response…is it strong or is it weak? And, that is driven largely by emotion and the way we feel about our world…our perceptions.

Are you beginning to see what an important role the heart plays in all of us moving forward in a healthy way? So important in fact, that scientists have coined a term “the little brain inside the heart.”

And, this little brain inside the heart has the ability to function independently from the brain in our head. It can remember on its own, it has its own way of thinking, its own way of learning, its own way of feeling and ~ it can be connected. In a way that will empower us and open the door to a multitude of really extraordinary experiences.

But, until we learn how to marry the wisdom of our heart with the utility of the mind, any information we receive will remain “just information” in the clutter of our mind that we soon forget.

However, when we establish this connection, it’s a hotline to our sub-conscious mind where we must communicate in a healthy way if we’re going to change unhealthy patterns in our lives.

Yes, it is only through reconnecting our heart to our brain that we will be able to solve the problems of this “new normal” that we are living in.

Our Heart and The Three Very Important Keys To Our Future

“Sometimes the heart sees what is invisible to the eye.”
~ H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

Let us speak about Love for a moment shall we. After all, it is the month of Love.

Love is not a word. It is a vibration, a power…an essence. Love is the most priceless ingredient and most commanding vibration in all existence. It’s an eternal dynamic living force. Love is the unified power which holds all things together. Love simply contains everything.

Enough intensity of love can heal and transform everything. This is humanity’s true nature. To be. In Love.

So, what is keeping us from exploding into the fullness of our divine selves, from this burning desire to know perfected love?

Well, there are several factors. Not all will apply to you personally, but in general, several, if not all, of these factors apply to most of us in varying degrees.

First, a lack of vigilance and motivation, with too little faith in such promises of Love will be sure to derail us.

Second, is consistency.  A lack of consistency in our resolution to invest enough time and energy in our own spiritual development keeps us in a state of spiritual lethargy and in a spiritual negative balance.

Now, let me say here that when I speak about spirituality I am not talking about religion. No, religion is man-made and is more about the rules and laws, and dogmas. Spirituality on the other hand, is all about the heart. Our own heart. And how we develop that love for our own Self.

The third factor is that most of us, unfortunately are suffering from a kind of spiritual laziness. We are all too busy “doing” rather than “becoming.” How many of us know why we have chosen to incarnate here at this time?

We all need to slash our “to do lists” in half and start investing time in developing and integrating the love of the divine that is in each of us. We need to start really loving ourselves and make an effort and commitment on an ongoing basis.

In truth, given what is happening on this earth at this point in history, there is nothing more important for all of us at this time.

I mean what we “did” yesterday has a very short-term impact on our lives. But, what we “become” as a divine being incarnated in a human experience will remain with us for eternity.

These are not ordinary times. Really big things are happening out there.  So, we need a good guide, a good blueprint…we need to find a way within ourselves to embrace the change that is happening in a healthy way and not just survive…by hanging on by a thread. We want to thrive!

How do we do that? We let our hearts guide us. You see, our hearts are way more than a pump. It’s a hot-line to our true power. For when we share our deepest gifts, our greatest passion…whatever that may be, that is how we are supported in these times of change. If the fires in our hearts are burning high enough, this love will stand ready to see us through all potential conflict and chaos. With ease and grace.

“The key to our future lies in the wisdom of our heart.”

A Unique Discovery About Running As It Relates To Our Transition Into This New World

“Baby, this town rips the bones from your back; it’s a death trap, it’s a suicide rap…”

~ Bruce Springsteen, “Born To Run”

I just recently finished a book of fiction called “The Illegal” by award-winning International Best Selling Author, Lawrence Hill. It was an epic adventure and fast-moving read about a runner from a poor nation who, because of his country’s politics, discovered he must run to save his family.

Which of course made me think of another mind-blowing true tale about running called “Born To Run” by Christopher McDougall, an award-winning journalist and runner who asked a simple question “Why does my foot hurt?” He set out to discover the secrets of an indigenous tribe in Mexico who have honed the ability to run hundreds of miles without rest or injury. What he uncovered was the greatest race the world has never seen.

Now why did these two completely different stories about marathon runners take me on an epic journey that read like a sprint? And why, on these heart-pounding races did it pierce my soul to such a degree?

You see, what I came to understand was that we all have put blinders on the effect of our own misuse of energy.

And, by energy I not only refer to the technologies that we have employed to enhance our lifestyles. I’m not only talking about the damage that is being done to our environment here on Mother Earth, nor the corrosion to the physical structure of the DNA within each one of us. I’m not only speaking of the information manipulation that takes place in all of our main stream media as a method of mind control.

No, the epiphany I had was how we have been totally misusing our emotional energy on this planet! How we have come to view our emotional body as our weakness or “Achilles Heel,” so to speak…that for many of us our emotional body was something to almost get rid of.

This realization of what we have been doing, or, more importantly what we have not been doing…BLEW. MY. MIND.

Our emotions are not energies to be ignored or subdued. They are not energies to be mistrusted or abandoned.

Our emotional body is our true birthright and a great gift! Only we’ve been shutting it down on a daily basis by denying it. We have attempted to override our emotions with the mind, forgetting that our emotions are the conduit to our hearts and souls.

We made a huge mistake when we erroneously believed that we could retreat from our hearts and from all that made us human. We made a huge mistake by trying to bring ourselves to a state of intellectual superiority believing that would make us more than human.

No, our emotions are not energies to be ignored or subdued. What we express through our emotional bodies is the connection that exists between the physical and the etheric…between body and spirit.

Only through the full acceptance of our total emotional selves, in regard to one and to all, can we look again into our souls and realize this as Truth.

So, let us reach out through our emotions, to the plight of the unseen and the forgotten who live among us. Let us touch the world…so that we are not running for our lives but, to our lives.

Cuz….BABY, WE WERE BORN TO RUN.

How To Act Our Way Into a New Way of Thinking

“Let my soul smile through my heart and my heart smile through my eyes; that I may scatter rich smiles in sad hearts.”

…Paramahansa Yogananda

Once upon a time…there was a time in our lives where we were very high in our awareness compared to where we are now. Then, this “fall” took place and we lost it. Even lost our ability to make fire.

There is a lot of talk these days of raising our vibration. Of the need to ascend from third dimension to fifth dimension. What exactly does this mean? What do we need to do? How do we do it?

We were heart-based a long time ago and we lost it. The connection between the heart and the brain was severed and we ended up living in our brain. This is not the true nature of human consciousness.

In order to survive we had to learn how to do everything. We used our brains and developed an ego in order to survive.  And, that’s great. It got us to this point. But, we are now living in a world that is at odds with everything.

So, our brains alone can no longer sustain us as we transition into this new world.

We are currently under the control or psychic influence of a world that is designed to sabotage us, to keep us from feeling happy and enjoying life and being glad to be alive.

We must take responsibility for the bad stuff that’s happening. It is a responsibility of our human experience.  So, how do we learn to raise our vibration in the midst of all this chaos? And, why is this so important?

First let me say that fifth dimension is not a place that you will be going to, but rather a state of beingness that you will attain. It’s moving to another level of existence. It’s simply a movement within us. It’s not something that is external to us.

The fifth dimension is a vibration, or rather a marriage of vibrations that are represented in the energies of love, trust, compassion, faith, grace and gratitude, representing a frequency in its purest form.

What raising our vibration really means is reconnecting the heart back to the brain. We make a change and we begin to perceive on another frequency of reality…and suddenly we’re in another world.

I believe that in our hearts we know this Truth although our minds still struggle to grasp the full scope of this reality. Our minds still demand ritual and rules, and proof, before we will step one foot upon this new path.

So, our work is to bring ourselves back to the frequency of faith and trust, NOT doubt and denial. This will help us to remember our True Self. We must ACT our way into a new way of thinking instead of thinking our way into a new way of acting.

That is where we must start.

The importance? It’s HUGE. The evolution of humanity depends on it. In truth, that is why we are here. The answers that we seek reside within us. It begins with us. Each one of us.

Can you begin to see that as we work on moving into our true identity, it’s that vibration that starts to resonate throughout the world…it’s that vibration that will change the flow of history!

In fact, “WE ARE THE ONES WE’VE BEEN WAITING FOR!”
